Sid the Kid has a while to go before he’s the greatest player in the world.
But all I gotta say is, it’s about damn time. I haven’t been able to watch hockey on TV for forever…been surviving on Yahoo! and Versus online broadcasts and whatever live streams I can scrounge up. Three cheers for the Jan. 1 game! No wonder Fleury was pissed when he got injured.
What was the earliest start for a NHL hockey game?
What was the earliest start for a NHL hockey game?
I’ve seen a 9:00 AM Hockey game but that’s all I think…
The sharks are playing at 10:00 at one point this season
When did the officiating in the National Hockey League become so bad and what is a penalty in the New NHL?
I have watched NHL Hockey since the Origional Six was still around, prided myself on having a fair amount of knowledge of the game, yet ever since these new "Obstruction" rules came into place to speed up the game, all of these phantom penalty calls only slows the game down. I see the most obvious of penalties overlooked and the silly ones called. Where can a fan go to complain about this, as I am almost about to give up watching this sport.
Hey Habitant, good to see you again. At least I hope it’s you because you used to have your name in caps.
Anyway, I think the decline began in the late 1980’s due to the understandable efforts to improve the flow of the game. I don’t fault the rules, but I do fault the referee’s who call them as THEY see them. Since that’s simply a case of humans being humans, I doubt that I’ll ever see two referee’s agree on anything. That calls for a rewrite of any obstruction penalty.
Right now, I don’t like how the games are called. It’s too easy to get a penalty yet every team has gotten away with calls too.
What do announcers say at an NHL hockey game when the home team scores a goal?
I do announcing for the hockey where I live and I was wondering what real NHL announcers say when the home team scores a goal.
They simply announce the goal, who it was scored by, # of goals by the scorer in the season this makes, assists (primary and secondary if applicable), and the time of the goal..
Then they repeat the scorer and ones who assisted again …
